meiy is currently at home on a tuesday which is suppose to be a sch day for many pple
rather refreshing as it is approx in the middle of the sch week and it gives me time to catch a breather esp if weekend hw load burnt one out and monday is the dateline for everything den deary tuesday walks in graciously hehe
so basically am trying to clear the stacks of texts that i photocopied from the central library..some interesting some boring some perplexing some wat-so-ever.
However i can't say the same for the friday-break which makes me dun-want-to-do-anything pattern. Everything juz became stagnant and the clock juz ticked away furiously...
and its another one-day behind schedule. sigh~
took a gem from the dept of mechanical engineering and as the name speaks for itself, the lecturers are also rather 'mechanical'. This is what happen... as the date of the quiz was only announced a few weeks ago, plans that were made way before hand clashed with this particular timeslot. so the person very nicely requested for a makeup but was flatly rejected .. and the lecturer very nicely gave a morally right reason -
i've rejected this indian guy who also has booked his plane ticket and i told him.. u either choose this 25% or you choose to fly. So...i can't make an exception for you. even a makeup is impossible. AND the decision of the lecturer is further supported by the dept dean.
So i thought to myself, tho the purpose for not sitting the quiz is personal but sldn't the student be given a chance? perhaps a defer or? and he cld juz close an eye and reshedule it again.
Obviously meiy is alil bias against the teacher...
firstly, the affected student is my friend
secondly, my plea was also turn down! of course i'm not going abroad, i juz happen to have a legal sch recognized activity to attend, in short UROP which ends at 4.30pm and the quiz starts at 4.30pm! so i ask if he cld give me the full 45mins even tho i'm late. and of course the answer is no. -_-'' and wat's more interesting is the reason and the points he dished out..
I really am unable to do anything. did you inform the organiser? (i said yes but they cldn't change it)
oh then in another words they dun respect your quiz at all, do you know? they dun respect his quiz at all. So which is more impt? this 25% or urop? You juz have to make a choice then. the pple organizins this sldn't put it on sch hours at all.. (-stunned-) So i thought to myself.. even a miserably additional 10mins also cannot giv me.. tsktsktsk... realli inflexible. Plus by the time he collects the papars, count the scripts..its more or less 5mins then with students dismissed..total approx10mins ma. he cld juz giv me tt extra time right? super sianz... plus urop is an engineering conference, right? whoever says

so hope i can finish the paper in time.

as for my friend, not sure how's he going to handle it but of course he'll keep trying.
Juz tt i think it sort of made him turn off by engineering modules liao :(

anws checked the website for undergrad admission and look thru last year's intake
the score is really high..with my grade that time, i wun be able to enter envt eng!? -_-
and not to mention the poly grads. the gpa is insanely high.. my bro was looking at it and sweat! lol but the course tt i chose for him..can make it. Tho i'm not sure if this is wat he wants... mechanical engineering! then ntu has this material engineering...interesting. material science, maritime...courses tt i think is relevant and practical. accouting too but interview.. doubt bro can get pass it :x sigh~
