SEptember 4th, 2009
marks the day of ESESC 1st AGM;
marks the end of the 1+ year we ruled;
the one year that we slog our guts out.
the handing over of responsibilities
marks the start of another new comm,
the fresh and brilliant flow of ideas into esesc
for ESE to ESE~
when a bunch of jnrs stepped up to form a club
when they gradually gain a spot in my heart,
spice up my life,
bring up the momentum that i once thought was lost,
ignite those passion once again...
ESESC has indeed left a mark in meiy :)
and tho we're officially off.. we aren't reali away
cos i'm sure somehow esesc will linger in my heart for many years to come.
i'm glad tt i've made the right choice of joining these once-year2s pple in taking the first step..
the first is never easy
i'm proud of us, the esesc!
Watching the video montage that yy has prepared
memories flowed by..
from the very first meeting at sin wen's hse when i was a stranger to them
who required the help of my snr to publicise an event that i was org at that time..yesh tt was meiy at tt times.. not knowing when to grab the right opportunity.
but as time goes, as experience are gained, meiy grew up
tho the changes wldn't tt great since i still hav not overcome my stage fright but now i felt the sense of impt to voice out my opinions, rather than keeping silentsomehow there will always be a nagging feeling behind me, asking me to stop being an idiot that keeps her mouth shut haha
be decisive!
unfazed by waves.
have taught me the way nus works esp when safety comes into the pic.
the way singaporeans and foreigners differ.. the extent of having fun.
a first hand experience of organising such high-risk event from an onlooker point of view :)
ese day. i figured it's like my first baby just like what jason mentioned that the unfazed by waves poster was his first and it appears around in nus which is sth to be proud of.
yesh!
the effort put in for ese day is tremendous!
taking up the role of the IT support and eventually stepping up to be vice PD..there're lots to juggle. learnt tt time management and job delegation was crucial to the success of an event
learnt tt it's not exactly good to take everything in and do it on ur own just becos of troublesome
meiy sucks at assigning duties cos she tends to do everything on her own, in her own way and manner - down right to the details, meiy luvs to pick on it lol
good and bad :)
glad tt hongyuan was ard to deal with the liaising which i always think was hard and alil tricky
foc. a remarkable success! haha
felt a sense of accomplishment when i survived it but unfortunately i dragged my capable asst, jaslin down to the 'kingdom of hell'..those late nights msn-meeting, those regurgitating of game details. harping on wet weather plans and even up to the actual day, we stayed up till 3-4+am thru out the camp.SO jaslin is someone who i reali appreciate cos without her, her ideas, her inputs, her fierce committment and of course her patience towards such a workaholic leader..i wldn't be able to do it alone.
regards to camp org comm, alicia and sharon were wonderful to work with tho i may not agree with some of their working style and the way they lead at times, its still something to learn abt.since leadership is something that can be learnt over the years and the style one use reflects more or less that person's personality :)and yesh up till today, it was great to see the freshie that came for the camps hanging out with one another..which means our aim was achieved.
bonding and interaction! a space for freshies to know one another..
grad dinner. entertaining and refreshing exp.
more interaction with the then-year1s who are organising it.managed to kope some IT skills thru it and completed a video montage on my own!
tho rather inefficient but it was the first attempt and it ended up great :)
happy.
the way of communicating was mainly emails so it was sth new.
the motivation and the stress on datelines were done pretty obviously. sth new to meiy.
i served more of an IT support, graphics designing, blahblah...critical comments made and multiple changes made due to meiy's eye for details! rather paiseh but since i had the designer's agreement to say whatever i like..i felt encouraged not to hold back :)
muahaha but they were patient with me nevertheless...
blessed.
so in all, a feat has been accomplished!and it all starts from????.....ESESC
which i will not be in if not for???.....KAifeng!!
a few weeks back, he told me tt my name was the first to appear in his mind when advisors were needed for esesc.reasons unknown but meiy was touched.not many pple will associate such stuffs with the word - meiy, as she's too quiet, too shy, too blahblah... not someone expected to lead others lolbut somehow or rather, yesh i'm in!hoho shan't elaborate more on this..since i think i mentioned it a couple of times alr :D
so i figured i'm fortunate to have met kaifeng.
tada~
long entry to blog, thought i sld do it before all the emotions died down haha then not inspired to note it down alr..
