overdue #1.: ART
(Saturday, October 16 / 12:13 PM)

hmm..i believe i have not been updating on meiy's life.
since pretty busy changing blogskin, youtube-ing. LOL

Anws, before i start proper.
Here's congratulating MBLAQ being 366 days old!
(sigh.. they sld release one album soon..but it's pretty fierce now with b2st and 2PM's album out LOL)
and twitter got jammed cos there're many fans wishing donghae happy birthday and mblaq 1st anniversary ^^
Din noe that twitter got display the most used words for that day LOL
interesting! maybe i sld use twitter too! since most of the K-idols use twitter and cyworld.

okies..back to meiy.

went to sculpture square(located at middle rd) to take a look at the art exhibition. It's pretty mini but the artpieces are pretty impressive and creative ^^
there's 2 exhibitions on that day tho.
one is by weili's friend and the other is by this super "lao-jiang" cos we were comparing the number of flower stands both artist had. ;p plus the "lao jiang" had pretty much sponsors too. and his was in the chapel! so when u step into it..(that's after going round the corner since the first thing that greeted us was the huge title board that covered everything at the back LOL)....there's this WOW factor. shown under white light. modern.pure.big. somehow the place look magnified the way it's portrayed and in contrast the artpeices were pretty small excluding those on the floor or wall. AND so it totally allows one to pretty much focus on his artpiece :D
On the other hand, weili's friend was in a 2-storey buidling. we get to view her workplace. Her artpieces were placed pretty much randomly..trying to use up the space as much as possible. shown under dim yellow light evoking a cosy homely feeling.

pictures are as shown:

my fav. artpiece.
portraying family bonding :D

innovative.

an artpiece by weili's friend ^^
her first solo art exhibition!

my fav artpiece by weili's friend: humpty dumpty!

bird in a pie!

i can't remember which nursery rhyme she used for this artpiece..

Anws, just some info on sculpture square ^^
it's a non-profit, independent arts organisation promoting the contemparary 3D art so local artist can have an opportunity to dispaly their artpieces :D but of course the pieces have to be of a certain standard la

And since meiy is on the topic of art....
i happen to get the chance to view some light installation ytd!
lucky meiy~
It's actually the Marina Bay Light Festival from 15 Oct to 7 Nov in Marina Bay precinct. So i was there on its first day Hahaha.. i think..that's if the info provided online is accurate.
BUT meiy din get to view all 20 installation. perhaps only 5 of it.
I lurve the one under the bridge. near to fullerton side(away from the helix bridge).
This particular installation is awesome in the sense that u can actually "interact" with it haha..
i'm not sure how to describe it but it's sth not to be missed!
makes use of the glow-in-the-dark concept(i think..can't seem to find any info online) so when the white light is shone and u happen to stand between the light and the display... your "prints" will be visible when the green light is shone! fascinating! HAHAHA...
it sld be installation #10?#11? can't remember -_-
oh wells..will go take a look at it once again if i hav the opportunity to go down again :D
ANws this festival aims to raise awareness of energy usage produced by artificial lighting and of course energy efficient too..promoting dark city skies :D

Other than this light festival, there's also one for photography!
The Singapore International Photography FEstival 2010.
This year's theme is Human: Nature and it's said that there's duality in this theme >> 'Human nature" or "Human & Nature".
Haven get to view it PLUS there's so many venues for this -_-'''
Shall look at it in detail later on...
Tho the one broadcasted on channel 8 news..the aftermath of a volcano eruption is really WOW!

yeps so it seem that singapore art festival has so many things in store for us :D
which is pretty much good even tho we dun hav the best artist...
even tho there' s really limited space and room for the art to be nurtured...
but it's good to be able to go ooh-ahh abt the artpieces..
getting fascinated and WOW over art.
and of course learn how to appreciate art
just like how people appreciate music, dance....

:D
